With a New Year just around the corner, now is a great time to lock in what to focus on in 2021 to become a better singer.

What to focus on in 2021 to become a better singer

1. Your Thoughts and Mindset

How you think and feel about yourself can be a powerful tool in becoming a better singer.

Your acceptance of who (your identity) will help inform you as to what you need to do or how you need to act TODAY to get where you want to be in the future.

Take a second to review the thoughts you have had about yourself today & let me know if they align with who you want to become.

If not, what do you need to start telling yourself?

Here’s an example if you need help… “I am an awesome singer that works on crafting & improving my vocal ability every day”.

2. Focus on your daily habits and the outcome will take care of itself!

It s very important to create goals/outcomes for yourself as a singer and performer.

Focussing on the steps, process or practices that will get you to those outcomes is a great way of guaranteeing that you are heading in the right direction.

Small baby steps each day, done with consistency will have more impact than bursts of practice every now and then.

“Goals are good for setting a direction, but systems are best for making progress.” – James Clear.

3. Look to your favourite artists for inspiration

What do they focus on each day to become better singers OR what did they do when they were starting out?

I like to ask myself, “what would Beyoncé do?”

That tends to stop me from mindlessly playing Yahtzee on my phone or Netflix bingeing!

I very much doubt she is doing either of those things. She’s too busy being a bad ass and making the creative content that will end up on your screens!

What are you going to focus on in 2021 to become a better singer?

I’d love to hear them.
