Singers Stretches

Add some stretches to release any tension in your body. As always, be gentle with your body & hold each one for at least 10 seconds. Do these before you sing or at any time of the day to focus and relax your mind and body.

Follow me through my Singers Stretches in this video.

Check your posture

Once you have relaxed, stretched & aligned your body, you are ready to tackle your vocal warm-up & practice plan.

Whether first thing in the morning or before a gig or you go to bed, meditation can help destress, refocus on what’s important or assist you to be present and in the moment.

This is a meditation app I use.

You can also use journaling as a tool to help get any “monkey mind” thoughts or plans for your practice or creative goals, out of your head and onto paper.

Put It All Together To Find Creative Focus And Relaxation

When combined, all of these steps can help to build a relaxation toolkit to enable you to focus on singing or being present in practice.

If you have specific stretches, focus or relaxation tips you swear by I’d love to hear them.
